bake & take day

The Montana Wheat and Barley Committee hopes Montanans will embrace the idea of "Bake and Take Day" and has encouraged this event for the past several years as a wholesome and delicious way to make a difference in one's communities and increase domestic consumption of grains, at the same time. Individuals or groups can make a food item (it doesn't have to be dessert) and deliver it with a smile to shut-ins, the elderly, neighbors, a single mother with no time to make a noodle casserole, or firemen at the local fire station. The opportunities are endless.  Some of the recipes featured in previous Bake and Take campaigns are available below.

Bake & Take Day 2001 - Apricot Almond Bars and Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls

Bake & Take Day 2002 - Oatmeal Raisin Wheat Cookies and Ice Cream Muffins

Bake & Take Day 2003 - Almond Wheat Treats and Peanut Butter Bread

Bake & Take Day 2004 - Cracked Wheat Bread with a Twist and Strawberry Pecan Coffee Cake

Bake & Take Day 2005 - Cranberry Pear Braid and Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Bake & Take Day 2006 - Oatmeal Scones and Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies

Bake & Take Day 2007 - Easy Oatmeal Bread and Fruit Pizza
